Failed ex-President Donald Trump and 18 others have been indicted by an Atlanta, Georgia state grand jury on racketeering and other charges in relation to an alleged scheme to illegally reverse the results of the 2020 national presidential election.
Trump has repeatedly claimed—falsely and without any evidence—that President Joe Biden “stole” the election. Over 60 courts have rejected the claim due to lack of evidence. If convicted in Georgia, Trump will not be able to pardon himself. Many suspect Trump plans to issue a self-pardon if he’s convicted on federal charges and wins re-election in 2024. This is the fourth indictment charging Trump with felonies.
