I saw the above quote posted on Facebook recently. As I thought about it, I couldn’t help but think of the Google executive who was found dead ten years ago on his 50-foot yacht. He died from an overdose of heroin administered by a call girl. This man had a lot of blessings to count—he had a great job, lots and lots of money, a wife, five children and yet he wound up in a mess like this. The lesson here is that money can’t buy any of the things in life that make us truly happy—all those things are free. As a friend of mine told me the other day, “We all have blessings, we just need to remind ourselves to count them once in a while. If this man had done this, his life may not have ended the way it did.
