Recently, I went to the Post Office to Purchase some stamps. As I approached the counter, I noticed that the woman who was about to help me had tears in her eyes. I said to her, “It looks like the seasonal allergies have gotten the best of you.” She said, “No, my husband passed away and I’ve been crying a lot.” I then locked eyes with her as she took the next several minutes to tell me how much she missed him and why. She then took hold of my hand and said, “The person may die, but the love lives on.” When she was finished talking, I got her name from her name badge and told her I would pray for her. At this point, she squeezed my hand and said, “Thanks for the hug.” It wasn’t a physical hug where I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed her, but it was the kind of hug she needed at the time.
