Thanks for Thanksgiving
This seems like a fitting time to thank everyone who helps me knock out this newsletter week after week after week. Thanks to Terry and Joe who loyalty is awesome. Then comes a special thank you for the folks who continue to read it. Some of the things you write me really touch my heart. Just yesterday I had a call from an old acquaintance who asked me if I remembered how I had encouraged him to do some writing. I finally recalled it and he announced to me, “My first book will be released December 1st.” When I tell readers about a new book or a new speech or a new anything I am working on I hope they understand that it isn’t all just bragging. When I write about what I am doing now at age 80 I truly hope it nudges some of you half or a quarter of that age to set out on a journey to your own dreams.
Thanksgiving can be much more than just turkey and cranberry sauce, it can be a wonderful opportunity to thank your friends and associates for the important part they play in your life.Say thank you to somebody from your past and it will help you set your sights on your future.
Say Something Good
Two fersl. I love ’em. Two burgers, two dinners, two boxes of ice cream. Especially two boxes of ice cream. Every now and then a local restaurant sends me a two-fer coupon and somehow I cannot resist it. right now there are some wonderful specials out there if you just look around. Here in the U.S. we have such an amazing choice of good food at really reasonable prices that it takes a trip abroad to discover how blessed we are. May God bless America and keep our troops from harm.
Points To Ponder
Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling. Margaret Lee Runbeck
A Little Humor
When Patricia dropped the Thanksgiving turkey on the floor in front of her new boyfriend her mother didn’t flinch. She simply said, “Patricia, pick up that turkey and take it into the kitchen and bring out the other one we cooked.”
Quote of the Week
There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse; as I have found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one’s position and be bruised in a new place. Washington Irving
