Unanticipated Dip – by Dr. Ross Reck

This past Saturday, I was trimming shrubs around the pool. I was a little stressed because I wanted to finish the job that afternoon. As I walked around the corner of the pool to get a trimmer, I lost my balance. I had to make a quick decision – do I try to regain my balance and risk hitting my head on the pool deck or do I go into the pool feet first clad in my yard work attire including sun protective hat, sun glasses, work gloves, shoes and pockets full of stuff? I chose the feet first option and went into the pool. I came up laughing, feeling refreshed and all of my stress was gone. My wife even paid me a compliment. She said that it was quick thinking on my part to jump into the pool rather than risk hitting my head. I interpreted this unanticipated incident as a sign form the Good Lord that it was time to call it a day. I spent the rest of the day doing fun things like playing with my granddaughter, reading and watching the baseball playoffs. That unanticipated dip in the pool with all my clothes on made my day!
